I’ve been playing around with my new Canon T3i every chance I get. As, I’m about to head out the door to go for a hike (Surprise bonus day off!) I figured I’d post a few of my favorite close up shots so far.
Just about 10 minutes ago I was in the back yard toying with my Polarizing filter and stacking my macro lenses. This shot I took with a UV filter, circular polarizing filter, a +1 macro lens and a +10 macro lens. Edited in GIMP.
Last week I went to a nearby spot called Eales Preserve on Moosic Mountain, the area is one of the few heath barrens in Pennsylvania and has large areas of rock and low brush… all in all it’s pretty desolate. I did come across many of these red berries though. This is just a close up taken with a 18-55mm lens, UV filter and CPL. No editing done.
While at Eales Preserve I also saw many of these small blue butterflies. They don’t sit still for long and take off as soon as you get close, so a macro shot was out of the question. For this shot I used my 55-250mm lens at full zoom from about 15-20 feet away. No editing done.
