Fiddler Crabs

Today I’ll keep it simple. These Fiddler Crabs were photographed a while back while I was kayaking at Tomoka State Park on the Tomoka River. I had stopped to investigate a small beach on a strip of land separating the Tomoka River and Strickland Creek. Camera used: Kodak P850

    • Fiddler Crabs are very common here in Florida, it’s not uncommon to see thousands of them at a time along the shores of brackish waters, Often while I’m kayaking… I’ll take them by surprise, they’ll all scurry into the grass or mangroves as I get close and then all scurry back to the water’s edge as i pass. It looks like the shore is liquid.
